YOUTH CAMP

General Info

 

When does camp start and end?

Youth Camp begins on Friday, Jul 18, 2025 check in at 6pm, and goes until Sunday, July 20th, 2025, pick up is at 12pm. 

Where is the camp held?

Youth Camp is at Green Hill Lake Camp, 40 Greenhill Lake Rd New Brunswick, E6E 1E7. You can learn more about Green Hill Lake Camp, and what the facilities have to offer at www.greenhill.ca.

 

Who can attend camp?

Youth camp is open to anyone who is between the ages of 12-18. Campers turning 12 later in the year and students who are 18 years of age and have graduated in the 2024-2025 school year can also attend.

 

How do I register?

You can register online at https://www.ayministries.ca/register.

 

What is the cost of the camp?

Early bird registration is $140 and is available until July 4, afterwards, registration is $150 and is available until the day of Camp. 

 

What is Tribe Wars?

At camp, all campers will be placed into colour-coded teams called Tribes. Throughout the weekend, tribes will compete in various fun challenges, competitions, and scavenger hunts for bonus points to earn your tribe points. The tribe that earns the most points by the end of camp will be crowned the winners (bragging rights) and each tribe will have designated Tribe War champions!

 

 

Packing & Preparation

 

What should I pack for camp?

  • Bible

  • Notebook and pen

  • Bedding (sleeping bag, pillow, sheets/blanket)

  • Towels and toiletries (for swimming and for hygiene)

  • Casual clothing for the weekend and services

  • Activewear for sports & outdoor activities

  • swimwear

  • Nightwear

  • Rain gear

  • Bonfire hoodie

  • Sunscreen & bug spray

  • Water bottle

  • Flashlight

  • Spending money (for snack shop, offering, etc.)

  • Anything else you may want to bring

 

Is there anything campers should NOT bring?

For the safety of all campers, no dangerous items such as guns, knives (including pocket knives), lighters, fireworks, shrink-wrap, water guns, or other disruptive “prank” items are permitted. Possession of these may result in immediate expulsion from camp at the discretion of the camp staff. Alcohol, tobacco, and vape products are strictly prohibited and will also result in immediate dismissal. Only prescription medications are allowed on campus and must be disclosed to the Atlantic Youth Team. No exceptions.

 

Dress Code & Personal Items

 

What is the dress code for camp?

Campers are expected to wear modest, appropriate clothing during camp. For girls, skirts or dresses (knee-length or longer) should be worn for services, accompanied by modest tops (no low necklines or sleeveless tops), and modest skirts or apparel during the day (no pants or shorts). Shorts are not permitted for guys at any time, with the exception of designated swim times in swim areas. All swimwear should be modest, and a cover-up should be worn when not in the water. Clothing with inappropriate graphics, language, or logos is prohibited.

Please note that while services are an essential part of camp, attire for services can be casual and comfortable. The focus is on participation and a respectful atmosphere, not formality.

 

Are phones or other electronics allowed at camp?

Phones are allowed at camp, but service is not always available at Green Hill Lake Camp. We do have the following policy with phones and electronics: 

IT WILL BE PROHIBITED FOR ELECTRONICS TO BE USED DURING BEDTIME/LIGHTS OUT; this includes cell phones, DVD/CD players, computers, video games, etc. Any campers who bring the above items to camp must turn them into the camp office. They will receive them back on Sunday morning before departure. NO EXCEPTIONS.

NOTE: Campers bear SOLE responsibility for any lost or stolen electronics. For this reason, we ask that you leave them at home. We will not be responsible for them.

Cell phones are not allowed after lights out. Your dorm counsellors will turn them off and place them in a safe and secure area.

 

Health & Safety

 

What if my child has allergies or is taking medication?

Please note any allergies or medications you are taking on the registration form. All medication must be disclosed to the Atlantic Youth Team. It is preferred that your child be responsible for administering their own medications; however, if your child needs help with the administration and/or scheduled reminders of taking medications, please note this on the application or reach out to us directly. 

Will there be medical staff on-site?

Some members of the camp staff have medical training, however should an emergency arise our first priority would be to seek professional help after a quick assessment.

What happens in case of an emergency?

In case of medical issues, the Atlantic Youth team will quickly assess the situation and depending on the response needed can transport campers to the hospital or call emergency services. In each of these cases, the parents would be informed immediately of the situation.

Can parents or visitors come to camp?

Our services are open to anyone to attend; however, activities, Tribe Wars, and meals are reserved only for our campers.

 

Can my child leave camp early?

Campers may leave camp early as long as they are over the age of 18 or leaving with one of their designated check-out adults. Refunds will not be made available for those needing to leave camp early for any reason. 

Meals & Accommodations

 

How are meals handled at camp? Are dietary restrictions accommodated?

 

Campers will receive three meals a day, plus snacks. If your child has dietary needs, please indicate this during registration so they can be communicated to the kitchen staff at Green Hill Lake Camp.

How much money do I need outside of registration? (for canteen/tuck shop)

 

After the evening services, Green Hill Lake Camp’s Tuck Shop will be open, $20 should be enough to cover the cost of snacks. There is also a snack following service, and this is included in the registration fee.
